I step within the shadow of your mighty wing and rest
It is my place of safety
I am covered and protected from harm
I am Warmed by love and made secure
This is where I need to be and here I will stay
I shall not be afraid
Dangers and fears, storms and disaster – they are not for me; not in this place
Evil will not touch me
I am heard, I am answered, I am honoured, I am loved
I shall proclaim your unfailing love in the morning and your faithfulness tonight
You thrill me Lord with all you have done for me and my heart shall sing for joy
So today, renewed by Your love, I renew my love for You
I shall trust in you and step with joy into this day knowing I carry your very presence
For Christ is within me
Let me be a sweet, sweet smelling fragrance to you Father
and may each day be a breath of life from Your very heart
A few thoughts
As a chicken keeper, I have noticed that tiny vulnerable chicks are protected by the safety of mother hen’s wing. Now while we might think that a wing is a fluffy warm place to be, it is actually a thing of great strength and power. None of the local cats or indeed the seagulls stood a chance, try as they might, to gain access to one wee chick. Mother hen’s wing was a fearsome thing!
