As I sit quietly in prayer, my mind drifts to heavenly things…
Sanctified imagination comes into play and I ‘see’ things that are not necessarily seen in the natural. I have allowed myself to explore what I see during prayer as I work in the studio.
These oil paintings are the result of my explorations. I loved the extra freedom that I enjoyed whilst working in this way. I sometimes refer to these works as my internal landscapes. But, I have settled on the term Spiritual Landscapes instead, because they are my outworking of what I ‘see’ or ‘sense’ as I pray and worship God.
In a way they are an expression of my journey in seeking God’s presence and His glory. In another sense, they are an expression of my worship to God.
So, I leave the viewer to enjoy their own journey of discovery, prayerfully, as they view these paintings.
