Landscape and Seascapes – Expressive and reflective!
All paintings are original works inspired by the beauty of the Isle of Man. Each one is unique and expressive and picks up on the incredible moodiness of the place, but also captures what I’m experiencing as I work them through. If you are looking for Port Erin, Port St Mary, or the rolling hills on the Island, then you will find the essence of them hidden within these works.
Techniques used
Painted on linen and worked in oils. They are built up with an extended working practice of using many glaze layers and scrubbing back moments to produce rich, deep colours and depth of emotion.

This painting was simply inspired by the glorious skies seen here in the Isle of Man. The light falls and engages with all it touches; turning even ordinary things into things of beauty.
Fire on the Land

This painting is a response to the fiery sunsets here on the Isle of Man. Sometimes the whole Island is ablaze. I see this as a Spiritual picture of things to come.

This painting was inspired by the incredible light as a distant storm threatened. Sometimes the sky, whilst full of light and vibrancy, holds the threat of something more menacing, and this can come totally ‘out of the blue’, just as we sometimes experience in life. Things hit us, and we have to face them. But there is always the delight of pink – those little rays of hope and light.

Held Captive in a Season of Stillness Oil on Linen – 96x56cm – Framed During the year of treatment for breast cancer, I heard God say that He was drawing me aside for Himself for a season. This was a beautifully restoring experience. I would just sit in God’s presence and receive healing.

You painted The Okd House on Castletown Bay shown in the mid distance with the promenade behind and the sea flowing I front. I have bought cards of this painting but I would love a print or even a small original. We used to live there and it is for my daughter who misses the Island dreadfully. Can you help? Thank you.
