Original oil painting – Oil on Linen – 117 x 66 x 4 cm – £2250
This painting was inspired by sitting in this spot here on the Isle of Man, and painting in my sketch book whilst the wind blew hail into my face.
But I was able to make some fresh but inspired marks which captured the colours on the beach.
I love the freshness in this sketch and later was able to translate it to oils.
The light falls, the sky let’s down it’s icy particles and as I engage with all it all, and reach for the paint, even ordinary things become things of great beauty.
